One year ago today

One year ago today I saw my daughters face for the first time.  I knew that the Hope list from our agency was coming out, and I had been nervous all day.  Brian and I had talked about looking at the "special needs" list before, but never at length, so I didn't know why I was so nervous about it coming out.  About four o'clock that day we got an email that from our agency saying they were having computer problems and the list wasn't going to come out until the next day.  Around 6:30 that night I was leaving my parents house to take a walk to their lake with Brett when I saw my phone blinking that I had an email.  It was from our agency saying the list was up.  I ran to their computer and sat there looking at all the children with tears coming down my face.  My mom came in right as I had Kate's file open and she said, "That is the most beautiful referral photo I have ever seen."  I had to agree.  Without even talking to Brian (he likes to remind me of that) :)- I sent an email to our agency asking for more information on three little girls- but asked that if we could only see one that it be for Kate.  Honestly I didn't think we had a chance at being able to review the files- there were 100's of families looking at the same list that I was- and most of them wanted young girls.  A week and a half went by without us hearing anything- and then we got "THE" email- I will save that story for next week. :)
The face I fell in love with

My beautiful girl

Tears! Tears! Tears of joy...for a beautiful little girl and your very wonderful loving family! This will always be one of my very favorite stories EVER and forever!!!
Brett's Journey to his Mei Mei---and the journey continues with a little boy who adores his little sister and a little sister who feels protected by her big brother. And a family that is such a safe, loving, haven for children to thrive in and grow in. You are all testament to a God who always knows best!
