One year ago today

A year ago today we received the most important piece of paper I have ever received- Kate's Letter of Acceptance. We waited what seemed like FOREVER to get this very important piece of paper. This paper told us that China officially accepted our request to adopt Kate. It was a happy, happy, happy day.
Sweet girl, we sure are glad that it is one year later and you are in our arms and not just in our hearts anymore! We love you!!

Cow Appreciation Day

We, of course, celebrated Cow Appreciation Day at Chick-fil-A a few weeks ago. If you don't know about this- every year Chick-fil-A has one day a year that they give away free food to anyone who dresses up like a cow. Mommy even let go of her pride and dressed up this year. Anything for a free Chick-fil-A right?

Taking a picture with Daddy

At the restaurant with all our friends
Meeting the cow- Brett was scared to death by the cow- so he wouldn't get his picture made with him.

Happy 4th of July (a little late)

We had such a fun 4th of July. Our church had a big picnic on the 3rd- then we went to Peachtree City for the fireworks. On the 4th we went to my mom and dad's neighborhood. They have races and a cookout and end the day with fireworks. It sure was fun to have Miss Kate here with us this year!
I have no idea what she is saying in this picture- but her face just cracks me up!

Watching the fireworks with our friends. We made the girls matching dresses.

The beginning of the fireworks. Kate got used to them and actually really liked them. Brett stayed like this the entire time.

A rare photo of just the two of us
How cute are they!!! My two guys playing volleyball.

Taking a ride on the paddle boat

Playing with the sparklers. I didn't think they were going to like these but they loved them. We went through 4 boxes!

Picking peaches and blueberries

Just when I (sort of) got caught up on the blog- I am waaayyyy behind again. How does that happen? This summer has been so fun, but so busy too. I just can't seem to find the time to sit down at the computer- so sorry to my 3 faithful readers (Stacy, Joanne, and Cat)
A few weeks ago Marissa and Maris (two girls that I used to teach with) came for a visit. After a long ride out in the country (all while they not-so-eagerly watched Miss Pattycake- sorry girls) we arrived at Gregg's Farm. We picked a huge bucket of peaches and a pail of blueberries and then treated ourself to some delicious peach ice cream. Yumm!

Brett finds a big peach
Sweet Maris carried Kate around the whole time because the ground was wet and my little "I don't like to get dirty" princess did not want her feet to get wet.
How about this one mom?
Checking out the peaches
An attempt at a group photo
Helping mommy carry the bucket
Picking blueberries. I think it is safe to say that more blueberries went into Brett's mouth than his bucket. He LOVES blueberries!

Brett sharing his ice cream with his sister (I love how he has is mouth open as he is giving it to Kate)
All the girls
The nicest man was there eating ice cream too. He talked to Brett the whole time. It was so cute to see the two of them. Brett thought he was hysterical.

I think she likes it!
