SNOW!!!!

Last week we got 4 inches of snow- which is quite a lot for us southerners.  Brett and Kate (and mommy and daddy) had a great time playing in it.  There is something about snow that makes you feel like a kid again.  There is nothing better then having a fun day playing in the snow and then coming in to a warm fire and some hot chocolate!

Look at all the snow!!!
Kate wasn't quite sure what to think about all the snow at first.  She was afraid to walk in it so we had to pick her up and take her from place to place.
My two panda bears.  Kate's foster family sent these hats to Brett and Kate for Christmas.

Brett thought it was so fun to slide down the slide in the snow
Brett about to throw a snowball at me- look at that cute face!
Painting in the snow.  I filled water bottles up with water then put food coloring in them.  They LOVED this- it kept them busy for at least 30 minutes.
Sweet Georgia- look at all the snowballs that got attached to her legs.

Monster Jam 2010

5 weeks ago (yes- I am way behind in my blog posts), Brian took Brett to the "Monster truck show".  Brett had been talking about it for weeks and was soooo excited about going.  Mommy, however, was a nervous wreck about him going without her.  So I did what every over-protective mom would do- dressed him in the brightest shirt he owned (in case he got away from Daddy), and wrote our name and cell phone numbers on a piece of paper with strict instructions to give that to someone if he couldn't find Daddy.
Once they got there he was a little overwhelmed- but he warmed up quickly and had a great time.  He did, however, say that if he goes next year he wants Kate and I to go with him and Daddy.  That's my boy!!!!!!!!!
He plays with his monster trucks all the time now.  He will get several of his cars and line them up in a row and then have his monster trucks jump over them.  He even gets his tractors out to help the monster trucks get up when the fall down.  So cute!

His favorite truck- Grave Digger
Oh my goodness- how cute is he!!!  Look at him holding on to his monster truck.  Oh I could just eat him up! (note the bright yellow shirt!)
This was his favorite part- when they would crash and the tractors had to help them

4 years

Four years ago, on January 29th, 2006, we attended a meeting with Christian World Adoption and decided to pursue adoption.  Little did we know at that time how long it was going to take to get our Kate home to us.  But now, here we are 1, 460 days later and our precious Kate is finally home for good.  What an amazing journey- filled with lots of surprises- the first of which was finding out just 3 1/2 months later that we were pregnant with Brett.  And then, when we least expected it, we found Kate on our agency's "Special Needs" list.  You just never know what the Lord has planned- waiting is hard- but His timing is perfect!  And we have two amazing miracles to prove it!!

Our sweet miracle #1 just one year later

Two years later and still waiting on his sister to come home

Three years later--- and still waiting

Four years later- the picture we have waited so long to see.  Miracle #2- our Kate!
