Catching up

Blogger is finally working so I thought I would try to catch up on our last few days. Although most of my time here was spent in the bed, we have still had a great time in Guangzhou. It has been much more laid back than Beijing and we have loved the slower pace. Kate finally got to take a nap in her bed (and she took a 3 hour nap every day!!!!). She continues to be such a good sleeper. She is easy to put down and once she is asleep she could sleep through a hurricane. We are so thankful for a good sleeper. Speaking of a good sleeper- here is Miss Kate on her first airplane ride...

Day one at Guangzhou we had the medical exam for Kate. She did great- no tears. She did have to have an x-ray because apparently her TB test had a larger mark than they like- she passed the x-ray with flying colors though.

Everyone waiting for our turn

Getting weighed- 21.8 lbs!

Checking out her ears, nose, and throat

Daddy and Kate on the dinner cruise (and the sore on Brian's face is not from Kate biting him :) - he has a cold sore)

Our hotel lit up at night

Another hotel all lit up

Kate LOVES all things girl- purses, necklaces, braclets, hair bows (yeah!), shoes,

clothes, dolls, etc. (the purse she is holding came with her from the orphanage)

Chilling with Daddy

Hanging out with daddy some more

Part of our dinner one night (no- I am not kidding you)

Look close- yep- those are frogs- thankfully those were not part of dinner

Eels- these were scary looking

This is what little miss did during her nap one day- guess I need to make sure her bumper pad at home is tied down well, huh!

Singing with the big girls in the hallway

Kate also loves to dance. She moves her hands around like she is doing Ti Chi- it is adorable.

The view from our room

Although we are SO READY to be home, we have really enjoyed our time here in China. The highlight of our trip, besides getting Kate of course- and meeting her foster family, has been spending time with our group. We were so blessed to be able to spend the last 17 days with these familes. It is going to be so hard to say good-bye to them tomorrow. We have been on quite the journey together, and have been able to see God's hand in so many ways. We can't wait to get back together next year and see how much everyone has blossomed.

Next stop- Beijing- then HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oops, I just deleted my own comment. I'll try again...
Praise the Lord for such a great report! Glad you are feeling better and that Kate had some good "Daddy time". We are so thrilled for ya'll and will pray for safe travels and precious time with your family back home. I still can't get over how CUTE she is! Then again she is your daughter and I would expect exactly that.
